What: The URL of the live wallpaper You select for Your New Tab page, and potentially other minor customization settings.
How it's used: Stored locally in Your browser using Chrome's storage API. This allows Your chosen wallpaper and settings to persist.
Sharing: This preference is not sent to Our servers.
User Bookmarks (via Chrome Bookmarks API - bookmarks permission):
What: Reads Your bookmark URLs and titles from Your browser's bookmark storage.
How it's used: To display Your bookmarks on the New Tab page for quick access and to allow You to add/remove bookmarks through the Extension's interface (modifying Your local browser bookmarks).
Sharing: Your bookmark data remains local to Your browser. We do not collect, store on Our servers, or share Your personal bookmark data.
Search Functionality (via Chrome Search API - search permission):
What: Processes the search query You enter in the Extension's search bar.
How it's used: Uses Your browser's configured default search engine (via chrome.search.query()) to perform the search.
Sharing: We do not collect or store Your search queries entered into the Extension. Your search activity is subject to the privacy policy of Your default search engine provider.
Interaction with DesktopHut.com Website (via host_permissions and externally_connectable):
What & How it's used: Enables the "Set as New Tab Wallpaper" button on Our Website to communicate with the Extension (passing wallpaper URL and title) to apply a chosen wallpaper. It also allows Our Website to check if the Extension is installed for this feature.
Sharing: Only the necessary wallpaper URL and title are passed. No other personal data is exchanged or stored by Us from this specific Extension-Website interaction.
Favicon Display by the Extension (Third-Party Services):
What & How it's used: To display icons (favicons) for Your bookmarks, the Extension sends the domain name of Your bookmarked sites to public favicon services (e.g., DuckDuckGo, Google) to retrieve the icon.
Sharing: Only domain names are sent. This is subject to the privacy policies of those third-party favicon services.

The Company will retain Your Personal Data (collected via the Website) only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Your bookmarks are managed by Your browser and are not retained by the Extension beyond their display on the New Tab page during your session.
