As a free software project, we embarked on a mission to create a simple, reliable tool that would allow anyone on Windows to use beautiful video loops as their wallpaper, without any hassle.
To provide the most free, safe, and accessible way for users to customize their Windows desktop with live wallpapers. We believe that personalization shouldn't come with a price tag or security risks. Our goal is to foster a vibrant community built on trust, creativity, and a shared love for cool desktops.
DesktopHut consists of two core, completely free components:
1. Our Free Windows Software
The heart of our project is the DesktopHut.exe application. It’s a lightweight, easy-to-use program that runs quietly in your system tray. We designed it to be smart, automatically pausing wallpapers when you're playing a game or using a full-screen app to ensure you never sacrifice performance.
2. A Massive Gallery of Live Wallpapers
We host thousands of high-quality, free-to-download MP4 live wallpapers, from stunning natural landscapes to epic gaming scenes. Our library is constantly growing, with new content submitted by us and our amazing community.
We know that trust is earned. In our early years, we made mistakes by using ad-supported installers to fund the project, and we apologize to anyone who had a bad experience. We stopped that practice long ago.
